LCAD's Summer Program gives aspiring art students an opportunity to sample foundation college courses. Scholarships are available for Drawing Fundamentals and Fundamentals of Graphic Design. Please see scholarship requirements below.
FD 110- Drawing Fundamentals
A two-unit foundation course that serves as an introduction to drawing, with an emphasis on convincing representation of form in space using elements of line, proportion, spatial relationships, value, and texture.
June 22, 2009 - July 23, 2009 (no class July 3rd)
Monday-Thursday 9a.m. to 12p.m.
Both full scholarships and half scholarships are offered for Drawing Fundamentals. Tuition without scholarship is $655.
FD 123- Fundamentals of Graphic Design
A two-unit foundation course that explores basic graphic design methods, processes, techniques, and formats. Assignments introduce elements, media, and principles of graphic design from a historical and contemporary perspective and emphasize visual representation aimed at communicating ideas and non-visual content. Computer applications: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

FD 111- Fundamentals of Figure Drawing
A two-unit class that serves as an introduction to the human form. Students work from the draped and undraped model. Emphasis is on accurate representation of the figure, using the elements of anatomy, perception, gesture, contour, line, form, structure, and proportion.
June 22, 2009 - July 23, 2009 (no class July 3rd)
Monday-Thursday 1p.m. to 4p.m.
Fundamentals of Figure Drawing is offered at half tuition ($655).
Scholarship Requirements
Eligibility: Junior and Senior High School students.
1. Complete the Scholarship Application Form. ( click here to download )
2. Submit a portfolio consisting of 5 images of your best work. Digital portfolios are preferred.
3. Submit a letter of recommendation from your high school art teacher.
