Patricia O’Brien

Patricia O’Brien is a cultural historian by training, author of books and articles in modern French history, and co-author of an enduring textbook in western civilization for college students. For the last 20 years she has served as a university administrator in the University of California system. She retired in 2008 from UCLA where she had headed the UCLA College of Letters and Science. A resident of Laguna Beach since 1974, she lives here with her husband Chris and stepson Devin.
